It (meaning the temperature... how are you supposed to always know that "it" means the temperature? Jeezis) got up to 74 degrees today. Friday it (yes, "it" still means the same thing) is supposed to get down to 28, with a very minor chance of a flurry. Also, it has started getting dark before 5 again.

I totally understand. Sunset around here is like 4:30...
4:30 here also for sunset. Also "it" is way cold here.
How about "it will be cold and rainy." Will the temperature be both cold *and* rainy?
DLD - Nope. That's my point. That "it" means anything without a subject with which to associate earlier in the sentence or in the previous sentence leaves an awful lot to chance don't you think?
For instance, last Saturday, the temperature was not 15 to 12.
I think it's time to tighten it up, if you know what I mean.
