I was having the same kind of thoughts. I know next to nothing about the country music industry (sorry), but I find it hard to believe that they really had the best country album of the year or best country vocal performance. Let alone album and song of the year. As I see it, it's just an excuse to fellate self-hating southerners and, as you say, give the rest of you the finger.
